Althaia – Kraken

Kraken is a Baltic Porter, a dark, complex and malty lager with flavors and aromas that
remind us of black currants and dark fruits, as well as notes of caramel and nuts due to its
deep toasted malts. Dark brown and somewhat opaque, it has a thick and persistent
cinnamon-colored head.
Lluna and Althaia have teamed up to rediscover this traditional style from the countries that
surround the Baltic Sea. A style which was created as a low-fermentation version of
imported English beers such as Brown or Imperial Stouts. This is how Kraken was thought
up: an intense, dark, mysterious beer. The fearless sailors of the Baltic Sea told horrifying
stories about a giant octopus that emerges from the depths of the sea to attack their boats
with the powerful whirlpool that it created after submerging again in the ocean.
